Vista West Park is a cozy neighborhood park located in west Fort Worth. The park features a pond with some interesting dragonfly species: blue dasher, eastern amberwing, and Rambur's forktail. The pond also has domesticated waterfowl. Solidly on the Kiamichi geologic formation, the limestone is of Early Cretaceous marine environment with Gryphaea and pecten fossils. The soil is of the prairie Bolar series with moderately deep, well-drained interbedded limestone and calcareous marls.
