Centers for Disease Control guidelines for booster doses

Pfizer and Moderna are available six months after a second dose for:

  • Age 65 years and older.
  • Age 18 and up who live in long-term care settings.
  • Age 18 and up who have underlying medical conditions.
  • Age 18 and up who work or live in high-risk settings.

Johnson & Johnson is available two months after a first dose for:

Mix-and match boosters:

  • Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may prefer the vaccine type they originally received, and others may prefer to get a different booster.

Teachers and school support staff members over the age of 18 qualify for booster doses.

No one under 18 years of age is eligible for any booster shot. Patients who are 12-17 years old who have received a first and second dose of Pfizer cannot receive a booster dose of Pfizer at this time.
