The Fort Worth City Council met at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at City Hall.

  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance restricting the possession of open containers of alcoholic beverages in the West Seventh entertainment area. The measure is intended to curb underage drinking.
  • An ordinance that would create a nine-member Community Police Policy Advisory Board failed 5-4. More than 30 residents addressed Council on the proposal.
  • The Council voted to extend the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone 4 (Near Southside) and split incremental revenue to allow projects currently on the drawing board to reach completion.
  • The Council approved a resolution supporting construction of a digital dome at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
  • The Council accepted $50,000 from the Amon G. Carter Foundation for The Hub, a proposed new multipurpose community center to be located in the 5100 block of Avenue G in the Stop Six Neighborhood.
