Celebrate Municipal Courts Week Nov. 7-11

Fort Worth Municipal Court announces a Municipal Courts Week celebration Nov. 7-11 at the A.D. Marshall Public Safety and Courts Building, 1000 Throckmorton St. Municipal Courts Week is dedicated to appreciating the contributions that Texas municipal courts make to the safety and wellbeing of communities.

Located in Fort Worth’s oldest surviving City Hall building, the Court is excited to show the public all five recently renovated courtrooms and its centerpiece artwork, Remnants of 1965 by local artist Riley Holloway. Learn more about this art project.

The opening ceremony for Municipal Courts Week will be at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, in the first floor lobby of the A. D. Marshall Public Safety and Courts Building.

“The outstanding work Court staff does day in and day out is a testament to their commitment to the core values of the City, an intense desire to serve the public, and imperative to the integrity of our legal system,” said Court Director William F. Rumuly. “Our courts serve over 200,000 constituents annually, including in the community.”

Chief Judge Danny Rodgers said: “Municipal Court is essential to a free and just society. We are grateful for this opportunity to celebrate the great work of providing justice to the citizens of Fort Worth.”

To support local businesses, food trucks will be available daily during the Nov. 7-11 celebration. View the schedule.(PDF, 110KB)

There will be several events during the week, including an open house, community engagement activities, educational opportunities and staff appreciations. Fort Worth Municipal Court staff will also be available to answer questions about the Court’s role in the community. Staff members will give away free traffic safety materials and other goodies. The event will run during normal court business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, Nov. 7-11.
