District 5 Leadership Meeting set for Saturday

Register for the District 5 Leadership Meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Handley Meadowbrook Community Center, 6201 Beaty St.

You will see neighborhood leaders leading as they participate in several panel discussions focusing on matters of interest to residents throughout the city.

Neighborhood leaders will address these topics in panel discussions led by FOX-4’s Dionne Anglin.

  • Neighbors and Police Strategize to Address Street Racing and Fireworks. Panelists: Torchy White, president, Historic Carver Heights; Cindy Boling, president, Central Meadowbrook; Police Commander Monica Martin; and Fire Chief Jim Davis.
  • What Does it Take to have a High-Performing Neighborhood Association and How to Energize Members? Panelists: Dave Fulson, director, John T. White Neighborhood Association; Michael Moore, president, Historic Stop Six Neighborhood Association; and former Councilmember Frank Moss Sr., president, Historic Rosedale Park Neighborhood Association.
  • Why Do Developers Want to Bring More Apartments and Why are Zoning Laws So Complicated? Panelists: Amy Conolly, assistant director, Neighborhood Services Department; D. J. Harrell, director, Development Services Department; and Rafael McDonnell, vice chairman, Fort Worth Zoning Commission.
