In an effort to improve mobility between Wagley Robertson and US 287; interim improvements will be constructed prior to the full reconstruction of the roadway.

July 2023 Project Update

These are interim improvements that will provide some relief in advance of the permanent improvements.

  • Interim pavement improvements involving widening the road is expected to be completed in August 2023. Widening the pavement allows for the construction of a center turn lane.
  • To address congestion on Bonds Ranch Road, interim left turn lanes will be installed at Fossil Springs Drive and  Kittering Road.
  • The interim improvements at the intersection of Bonds Ranch Road and Wagley  Robertson will begin in the next month. A traffic signal will be installed here to help traffic move.
  • In addition, work is planned to start at the roundabout near the QT station.
  • A right-hand lane is planned at the QT Gas station for those turning onto US 287.

Federal Railroad Administrator Amit Bose Announces New Funding for Grade Crossing and Highway Safety Improvements in Fort Worth, Texas

Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Administrator Amit Bose announced the award of over $17 million for a grade separation project on Bonds Ranch Road. Part of a highway corridor spanning the cities of Haslet, Fort Worth, and Saginaw, the new four-lane grade separation will allow vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians to avoid the Bonds Ranch Road rail crossing, which is blocked multiple times a day due to high train volume. The project was funded by FRA’s new Railroad Crossing Elimination (RCE) Program and will benefit safety, community connectivity, and supply chain fluidity in the State of Texas and across the country.
