Drainage Improvements

Culvert improvements are proposed for Comanche Trail between Malaga Drive and Marina Drive to address existing hazards from flood waters overtopping this location. In conjunction with the culvert improvements, the road will be widened and and the profile elevated to reduce the probability of flood waters overtopping the roadway during high intensity rainfall events.

February 2023 Update

  • Construction: January 2023 to January 2024
  • Construction contract awarded to Klutz Construction
  • Construction began December 2022
  • Comanche Trail, between Malaga and Marina Drives, will be closed for approximately four months between January 2023 and May 2023.  Detours will be provided.
  • Traffic control signs will be placed in advanced of the closure
  • Schools and emergency services will be notified in advance of construction and road closures
  • New utilities are complete
  • Culvert installation and drop structure are the next big construction items
