Through this capital improvement project, the City of Fort Worth’s Water Capital Project Delivery division will construct a new 5-million ground storage water tank to meet the increasing demands in North Fort Worth.
This tank will replace the current Sendera Ranch ground storage tank, which is located south of Rancho Canyon Way - between Wagon Train Trail to the west, Betten Bronco Drive and Rusty Spur Lane to the south, and Songbird Lane and Lone Rock Lane to the east. The new storage tank will be built just south of the current tank.
Ground storage tanks store treated water from the City of Fort Worth’s water treatment plants. The tanks maintain a consistent water pressure throughout the distribution network, to ensure that the water flows effectively to homes and businesses. Ground storage tanks work in hand with water pump stations and elevated storage tanks to ensure a reliable and efficient water distribution system.
City ground water storage tanks serve as a reservoir to hold treated water and provide a consistent supply of water during peak demand, or in emergencies. The storage tanks also maintain water pressure within the City’s water distribution system.
This capital improvement project is in Fort Worth Council District 10. The improvements will impact the North Fort Worth Alliance, Sendera Ranch HOA, and the Madero HOA.
**Construction on the new Sendera Ranch ground storage tank is scheduled to start on June 2, 2025.**
