Street & Transportation Improvements

The West 7th Street Bridge is an iconic Fort Worth landmark and a vital connection between downtown and the Cultural District. Its current lighting system is beyond regular maintenance, leading to high upkeep costs and inconsistent operation.

Plans to modernize the bridge lighting with reliable, energy-efficient, and visually striking illumination that enhances both safety and aesthetics is a key component.

Project Goals:

  • Enhance the visual appeal of the bridge and surrounding cityscape

  • Reduce ongoing maintenance and operational costs

  • Improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists

  • Enable changeable lighting for events, holidays, and special occasions

  • Support sustainable community pride and strengthen local identity

Key Features:

  • Enhanced nighttime ambiance
  • Improved reliability and performance
  • Reduced maintenance requirements
  • Advanced, programmable lighting controls

This project is located in Council District 9.
