Fort Worth Animal Care and Control is celebrating huge success after this weekend’s MEGA Adoption Event: 78 of our animals found loving homes in just two days! Altogether, more than 760 animals from participating organizations were adopted.

Our team spent months preparing for this event, making sure dozens of pets were ready to meet their forever families. Thanks to generous donations, new adopters were able to head home with free pet food and supplies to help their pets settle in with ease.

One of the brightest highlights of the weekend was seeing one of our longest residents, Delilah, finally find her home. Delilah was surrendered in early June and, despite her sweet nature, had been repeatedly overlooked at the shelter. She was even placed on our Urgent Placement Pet list as staff worked to find her a permanent home. This weekend, she took the trip with us to the Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall and went home with her forever family.

FWACC has proudly participated in MEGA since 2017, and every year it serves as a reminder of just how special our community is. Events like this truly fill hearts while emptying kennels. We’re deeply grateful to the Humane Society of North Texas for hosting such a fun and impactful event, and to every adopter who helped change an animal’s life this weekend.
