Volunteer
Fort Worth Animal Care & Control Volunteer Program is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of animals in our shelter through compassionate care. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for every animal while actively engaging with the community to promote responsible pet ownership. Through education and outreach programs we strive to promote a culture of empathy and respect for animals, contributing to a positive change throughout Fort Worth.
We are thrilled you're considering volunteering at FWACC!
What We Do
Helping animals is deeply rewarding, though it can present challenges. We hope this becomes a long-term partnership as we work together to find loving homes for our pets.
As an FWACC volunteer, you'll contribute to our mission of providing humane and compassionate care. Your support will be invaluable as we strive to make FWACC a welcoming and fulfilling place for both animals and volunteers.
Possible volunteer roles include:
|

|
- Animal Care: Walking dogs, enrichment prep/cleanup, cleaning kennels.
- Public Education: Promoting responsible pet ownership.
- Community Outreach: Assisting citizens, participating in special events.
- Animal Networking: Pet photography, social media promotion.
- Fort Woof Run Club: Join us on the Trinity Trails to walk or run with adoptable dogs. Dogs get valuable exercise and exposure to potential adopters in a fun and active setting.
|
We welcome businesses, organizations and youth groups to join us for a meaningful day of service. If you need to fulfill court-ordered community service hours, we can accommodate those as well.
