Looking for a fun and meaningful way to stay active this summer? Fort Worth Animal Care & Control invites you to join the Fort Woof Run Club — a new program that pairs community volunteers with adoptable shelter dogs for walks and jogs along the scenic Trinity River.

The Fort Woof Run Club gives shelter pets a chance to stretch their legs, sniff the flowers, and make new friends — all while sporting bright “Adopt Me” vests to help them catch the eye of potential adopters. Every outing helps spotlight these wonderful animals and gives them valuable time to relax outside the shelter environment.

Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll or a brisk run, there’s a place for you in the club. Our shelter pets simply love the fresh air, exercise, and companionship — and they’ll be grateful for every mile.

The next run is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025.

Ready to make a difference? Sign up to volunteer today.
