Joint Reserve Base Noise Impact Area

The City Council has adopted development regulations that apply to the new construction of residences and other noise-sensitive uses within the noise impact area of the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base. The final report can be found at the NCTCOG website.

Note: City Council has approved amendments that require noise attenuation for new building construction to ensure that interior noise levels do not exceed 45 DNL (per federal standards) for residences, nursing homes, hospitals, day care centers, and schools. Walls, windows, exterior doors and roofs would be subject to soundproofing requirements.
