Fort Worth’s rapid growth is placing increasing pressure on its transportation network, both now and as the City approaches full buildout. Community feedback during the MTP process emphasized the need for timely, visible improvements, predictable project delivery, and responsible use of public resources—underscoring the importance of a more structured and fiscally disciplined approach to transportation investment.
The Transportation Investment Program (TIP) was created to meet this need. It offers a financially constrained, program level framework for prioritizing and sequencing projects over the next one to ten years. The TIP emphasizes project readiness, the realities of capital project development, and the phasing required for major roadway and multimodal improvements. By organizing investments programmatically rather than by individual funding cycles, the TIP supports more predictable delivery and stronger coordination with regional and state partners.

Fort Worth Transportation Projects Performance Dashboard
This dashboard represents a collaborative effort among Fort Worth, neighboring cities, developers, the five counties, NCTCOG, and TxDOT to map all known projects in the city. Project information is maintained by the respective agencies, and its accuracy or timeliness is outside the City’s control and subject to change.

Technology
The integration of transportation technology is critical addressing capacity, safety, and operational needs of existing fully built out arterials.
Micro-Weather Roadway Sensor Infrastructure Project
The City of Fort Worth is building a first-of-its-kind micro-weather sensor network to help autonomous vehicles (AVs) and advanced air mobility (AAM) aircraft, like delivery drones and air taxis, operate more safely, even when the weather isn’t perfect. For more information see the link Here
