Interim Chief Raymond Hill
Chief Hill has been with the Fire Department for 31 years joining as a firefighter in December 1994. He worked his way up through every rank until becoming Assistant Chief of Educational and Logistical Services in July 2018. As Assistant Chief, he held multiple responsibilities including managing Recruit Training, In-Service Training, the Office of Emergency Management, Personal Protective Equipment and Supply, portions of Facility Maintenance, Fire Apparatus and Vehicle Services, Personnel Health & Wellness, the Fire Alarm Office (FAO) and the SCBA (Air) Shop.
Chief Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, an Associate of Science Degree from Tarrant County College, a Master of Science Degree from Amberton University and an associate’s degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.
Assistant Chief Derek Edwards

Assistant Chief of Operations
Assistant Chief Edwards has been with the FWFD since 1999. He is responsible for managing Fire Operations, EMS Operations and Special Operations, which include Technical Rescue Team (TRT), Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), Wildland Firefighting, Dive and Swift Water Rescue and Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF). Chief Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tarleton State University, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from University of Texas at Arlington and an Executive Fire Officer (EFO) certification from the National Fire Academy.
