Community Outreach

What We Do

The Community Outreach team creates programs that matter to our community.

This special unit works with schools, local groups and community partners to develop learning programs, community classes and special events focused around three areas.

1. Parent Engagement: Develops partnerships with community organizations, providing valuable resources and learning opportunities for parents and caregivers.

2. Educational Outreach: Works to build community partnerships to provide educational resources and support that furthers the Fort Worth Public Library’s mission.

3. Outreach Services: Coordinates the Library’s participation in Fort Worth’s festivals and partners with a variety of nonprofits, neighborhoods, museums, community centers, businesses and other City departments.

Suggested Session Topics Include:

  • How to get and use a library card

  • How to use books, programs and other library materials

  • How to explore digital tools and databases

  • How to work at the library or in library careers
