Street & Transportation Improvements

This project is funded by the City of Fort Worth and the Tarrant County Commissioners Court through the Tarrant County 2021 Transportation Bond Program.

A two-mile portion of Avondale Haslet Road will be reconstructed from two lanes to four-lanes. This improvement will reduce congestion and improve mobility.

The two-miles run from Willow Creek Drive to the Fort Worth city limits east.

As part of this roadway enhancement, the project includes:

  • New curb and gutters
  • Storm water drainage
  • New 10-foot pedestrian and bike lane
  • Traffic signals at both Willow Springs Intersection and Sendera Ranch Intersection

  • New and improved Illumination

This project is located in Council District 10.

February 2026 Project Update

  • Expect multiple utility contractors through spring 2026.
  • A contractor has been selected for road construction and are looking to start construction in February 2026.
  • Expect construction to begin on the north side of Avondale Haslet from Sendera Ranch to John Day Road. Two-way traffic will remain on the existing pavement with occasional flagging from the contractor. The work on the north side will continue through Summer 2026.
