Grand Avenue Sidewalk Project

This is a project to build a new sidewalk that is larger than the current one.

The new sidewalk starts at Northside Dr., east to Clinton, and follows North Grand Ave. to Main St.

In addition, the design plans prioritize the historic trees located in this area and where possible, seeks minimal impact to these trees.

The purpose is to  provide a safe continuous sidewalk near Oakwood Cemetery.

This project is in Council District 2.

June 2025 Project Update

• Crews have completed paving the sidewalk and installing retaining walls, stairs, curb and gutter.
• Next, they will be working to finish paving and pavement striping.
