Water & Sanitary Sewer Imrpovements

This Sycamore Creek Sewer Rehabilitation capital improvement project will rehabilitate the existing sanitary sewer lines – from I-30 South to the I-35/I-20 exchange. The current sewer main does not have the capacity to serve existing customers in the Sycamore Creek basin area and the proposed developments that would be located further south. The existing lines parallel the new lines that are being constructed.

  • Phase 1 of the parallel lines started at I-30 (Trinity Trails System) and extended south to Union Pacific Railroad, along Windham Street. (complete)
  • Phase 2 picked up at Windham Street and proceeded south through the former 9-hole Sycamore Creek Golf Course to south of East Vickery Boulevard (complete)
  • Phase 3 - Sycamore Creek South Wastewater Improvements - extends from Vickery to Cobb Park Drive (construction; projected end date is May 2023)
  • Sycamore Creek Sewer Rehabilitation (pre-construction/projected end date is February 2023)
  • Phase 4A and 4B - Sycamore Creek Phase 4A & 4B Wastewater Improvements - is the final phase that is responsible for constructing a sewer main - parallel to an existing sewer main (design/projected end date for both parts is January 2026)

The new 66-inch diameter sewer main in Phases 1-3 will run parallel to the existing sewer main which varies in diameter from 48 inches to 54 inches. Both lines will feed into the Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility.

This sewer rehabilitation project is in Council District 8.
