The Texas Department of Transportation has required that the existing water main that is currently attached to the Riverside Bridge be removed to facilitate the proposed rehabilitation of the bridge. The proposed water main relocation – which involves tunneling underneath the Trinity River – will require permits from the Texas Department of Transportation, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Texas Regional Water District and the Texas Historical Commission. This affects the Council District 8 Riverside Drive segment.
